| Notes |
- 'qǐngwèn'
literally means 'please ask'. The actually meaning is:"May I ask...?"
- 'xiānsheng' means "Mr.". In Chinese, you must say the surname followed by 'xiānsheng'.
- 'nín' is a formal and polite form for 'nǐ', usually used to address your superiors.
- 'bú kèqi' is another way to respond to 'xièxie'.
